The beginning fires KANA Over the past few months, we in Washington have been experiencing smoke drifting up from the Oregon and California area. For us it’s a temporary inconvenience. But the source of this smoke has been displacing thousands of people from their homes, has killed dozens, as well as burning thousands of acres of land. The dry and dead underbrush of the forest make them the perfect environment for some of the biggest fires in west coast history. All it takes is one spark and the whole forest would be turned into a fiery waste land. One of these powder kegs is Death Valley national park. Reporting temperatures of 130F. one of the highest temperatures ever recorded in the U.S. One of these sparks that blew up these forests was a gender reveal party.

The president’s interview with Californian officials.
On September 14th U.S president Donald J Trump held a conference with Californian officials to discuss current and future action to help prevent wildfires. One of these officials (Tom Crowfoot) was mentioning how that these fires are not just affecting the summers but starting to heat up their winters as well. However, trump disagrees with crowfoots statement. (the following is text from this conference). CROWFOOT: "If we ignore that science and sort of put our head in the sand and think it’s all about vegetation management, we’re not going to succeed together protecting Californians. TRUMP: "Ok, it’ll start getting cooler, you just watch,” CROWFOOT: "I wish science agreed with you,” TRUMP: “I don’t think science knows, actually,” This interview was held on September 14th. At the time hundreds of thousands of acres were burning across California and Oregon. Contributing to climate change and destroying homes and habitats across the west coast.
